Married to Angelica Nicolau and father of two children, Ana-Maria and Radu.
Education
- since 2003 – Ph. D. in communication sciences of the University of Bucharest. His thesis is called „Public service in Romanian media: European patterns, Romanian contents” and is coordinated by professor Ion Coman
– 1980 –1985 – student of the University of Bucharest, the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics
- 1985 – graduate of the same institution

Professional experience
- from October 2007, associate professor at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, the Faculty of Letters and Art, the Theatre Department
– June 2007 – member of the National Council for Audio and Visual Media
– May 2007 – founder of Nemi, a children’s books publishing house
– January 2007 – founder of SMART FM, the first private radio station in Romania based on information in fields like arts and science
– since the 15th of September 2006 – adviser of the Lagardere Group for Romania (coordinator of the Lagardere business development, mainly mass media business)
–the 31st of March 2006 – he resigns as vice president of GRIVCO
